Word Lock is a word puzzle game published by Four TwentyFour Apps
("we", "us"). This policy explains what the game collects, why, and what you
can do about it. It covers the iOS and Android apps with the bundle
identifier com.fourtwentyfour.wordlock.
There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, e-mail address or phone number, and your puzzle progress is stored on your own device. What does leave your device is limited to three things: advertising, anonymous gameplay statistics, and crash reports.
| Purpose | Data | Who processes it |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising — the banner, the between-levels ad and the optional reward video | Advertising identifier, IP address, device type and operating system, and interaction with the ads shown (impressions, taps, video completion). Personalised advertising is only used where you have consented to it. | Google AdMob |
| Gameplay statistics — used to tune puzzle difficulty and see where players get stuck | In-game events such as levels started and completed, words found, hints and keys used, coins earned and spent, together with an app instance identifier, device model, operating system version and approximate country. | Google Analytics for Firebase |
| Crash reports — so that bugs can be found and fixed | The technical details of a crash: stack trace, device model, operating system version, and the state of the app at that moment. | Firebase Crashlytics |
None of this is used to identify you personally, and we do not sell your data. The identifiers above are device identifiers, not identities: they can be reset from your device settings at any time.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your data protection authority. Note the practical limit: because the game holds no account and no contact details, we normally cannot tell which data belongs to which person. If you write to us with your advertising identifier, we will act on it as far as that identifier allows.
The three services above are provided by Google, which processes the data on our behalf and, for advertising, also on its own account as a controller. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. This may involve transfers outside the EEA, covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Crash reports and gameplay statistics are kept for the retention period configured in the corresponding Google service, after which they are deleted or kept only in aggregated form that cannot be traced back to a device. Advertising data is handled under Google's own policies.
Word Lock is not directed to children. The game declares itself as not child-directed to the ad network and limits ad content to a general audience rating. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of digital consent.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
